As of July 1st 2018 we will no longer perform onyxectomies, more commonly known as the removal of claws or declawing.
In recent years, declawing has raised controversy in the veterinary community. Several countries have even banned this procedure for several years now. Like many veterinarians in Quebec, we decided not to do this type of surgery. It is a thoughtful choice that follows the primary mission of our hospitals.
There are a multitude of solutions and our team will help you find the ones that suits you. Simply contact us so that we can answer all of your questions.
As much as we don’t want to think of it, our pets are susceptible to countless illnesses, conditions, and accidents. Common conditions include joint problems. In these cases, orthopedic surgery is normally performed to alleviate the pain suffered by your pet on a daily basis. Sometimes, medication is enough to soothe joint ailments. In extreme cases where surgery is the only solution, we have the in-house specialists needed to do the job right. Another common surgical procedure requested by pet owners is pet sterilization.
Fortunately, our Montreal and South Shore specialists have the experience and skills necessary to easily handle this request.
